In 1944...before Jackie Robinson broke the color lines in baseball....before the integration of schools with Brown v Board of Ed....A little known black coach with untold basketball pedigree arranged the legendary “secret game” between his CIAA champion NCCU Eagles and the All-white team from Duke University. Coach John B. McLendon went on to be enshrined 3x in both the college and Naismith basketball HOFs for a career of innovations and firsts. This piece honors his legacy and the cross-cultural barriers we inspire to break with our creative designs.
